Cambodian Space Project

Front singer Srey Thy originally moved to Phnom Penh to escape the poverty of the countryside. After singing in karaoke bars, she met French and Australian musicians with whom she formed The Cambodian Space Project, who soon began writing original material as well as covering khmer hits of the 60s.

A mixture of 60s rock, garage, soul and jungle, the band performs all over the country from rice fields to the 50th birthday party for Phnom Penh’s sole elephant. Since 2011, they have started touring internationally, to China, USA, UK, Australia and France.
