Everyone’s favorite it girl in Paris in the 60s, Zouzou had started out by modeling. Her androgynous, mesmerizing beauty was unfortunately -as Yves Saint-Laurent regretfully remarked- not very compatible with the discipline of Haute Couture.

For Zouzou la twisteuse, as magazines soon nicknamed her, likes to dance and meet people. She became Brian Jones’ companion, met Bob Dylan, and recorded her first songs on the Vogue label. At the same time, she started acting in the Philippe Garrel’s first experimental underground films, until he turned his attention to Nico, allowing Zouzou to take on the part of a lifetime, the lead role in Eric Rohmer’s Chloe in the Afternoon. Many films will follow throughout the 70s.

In 2006, Zouzou made a triumphant comeback. The Pompidou Center in Paris organized a retrospective of all her films, a first for a living artist. She wrote her autobiography, Jusqu’à l’Aube, published by Flammarion, and Sony released a compilation of her recordings.

We are proud to offer Zouzou’s new album En Vers Libre in many formats as well as her book and DVD. Click on the products to get detailed information
